Job Summary
We are looking for a senior Head of Databricks to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure. This role will own the Databricks Lakehouse architecture, guide data engineering teams, and ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions that support analytics, AI, and business reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the Azure Databricks data platform across the organisation
- Design and maintain Lakehouse architecture using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Unity
Catalogue - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams
- Build and manage batch and real-time data pipelines using Azure services
- Ensure data quality, governance, performance, and security standards
- Drive CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices for Databricks workloads
- Collaborate with business, analytics, AI, security, and infrastructure teams
- Support solution design, technical reviews, and client discussions
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10–15 years of IT experience with strong data engineering background
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure DevOps
- Good understanding of data governance and cloud best practices
- Experience leading and mentoring technical teams
